SEPTEMBERS ISSUE OF VALERIE WILL BE ON MOTHERS AND DAUGHTERS. WE ARE ACCEPTING SUBMISSIONS ON:

• the mother/daughter dynamic
• the experience of being a single mom/teen mom
• mothers who abuse their daughters (physically, emotionally, sexually, etcetera)
• mothers who groom/indoctrinate their daughters into patriarchy
• mothers who ignore/defend/enable/facilitate the abuse of their daughters by their own husbands/boyfriends/brothers/sons, or other men in their lives
• the anti natalism debate
• mothers of children they didn’t want
• mothers of children born of rape/abuse/coercion/incest
• daughters of mothers who didn't want them
• daughters of mentally ill mothers
• postpartum depression/psychosis/health issues
• dangers of pregnancy and childbirth
• history of midwives/childbirth/surrogacy/wet nurses
• abortion
• surrogacy
• adoption
• the foster system
• how mothers are blamed for their sons violence
• the idea that motherhood is a woman’s only true purpose, or “god’s will”
• your experiences with your own mother and/or daughter
• raising a daughter under patriarchy
• etcetera :)
