Submit something!
the JAN/FEB 2026 issue is themed around issues faced by trans men and transmasculine people in and outside of the LGBTQ or trans community. Valerie is looking for people who identify or have previously identified as trans men, transmasculine, or nonbinary, to submit writings about your lived experiences with: :
- being discriminated against or harassed for your assigned sex or your gender identity, within or outside of the trans or lgbt community
- being socially ostracised for speaking up about abuse from fellow community members
- transphobia/malgendering that you or your peers have faced
- specifically anti-transmasculine rhetoric you have witnessed/experienced.
- barriers you have faced when trying to access reproductive healthcare
- barriers you have faced while transitioning
- threats/malgendering/harassment you have faced from speaking out about sexism or transphobia or other bigotry
- What you wish radical feminists understood about the transgender lived experience, especially pertaining to transgender men
- etcetera :)
I understand that some of you will have faced harassment from other radical feminists. I am not trying to excuse or justify this. Even if you disagree with my point of view, I implore you to still consider submitting. Listening to varied and diverse opinions is how we (as feminists) avoid becoming an echo chamber. Please understand however that abusive or hateful language will not be tolerated or published. I implore you to send this to any friends or allies you think may be interested in sharing their opinions or writings with Valerie. We accept writing, poetry, short stories, art and collage, and rants or rambles about your personal experiences. If you want to just rant/vent to us or at us that is okay! Please send your submissions to valeriesubmissions@gmail.com by the 30th of January, and please include in your submission what name (or social media handle) you wish to be credited by or if you would rather remain anonymous. (types of submissions we accept: poetry / short stories / essays / opinion pieces / personal stories and experiences / rants / book reviews / film reviews / art / comics / photography / digital collage / advice / wisdom / pop culture commentary or analysis / book or film recommendations / etc)
